Halifax Assistance Fund Contributions This Year

Provided $1365 to the Calvyn Presbyterian Church to make Christmas dinner for 21 families. 

Provided $3500 to the YWCA’s SHYM program. This program provides long-term housing and different support for young single mothers aged 16 to 24 to help them transition to other programs or more stable housing. 

Provided $3500 to the YWCA’s WISH program. This program provides safe, affordable housing and support for women and gender-diverse people transitioning from homelessness. 

Provided $3500 to the YWCA’s Safer Spaces program. This program provides emergency and transitional housing for young adult survivors of sexual exploitation and human trafficking who are working to exit the sex trade.Insert text

For several decades, we have provided financial support to HRCE social workers to ensure that children and families are able to get their basic needs supported when they are at their most vulnerable. This year, we donated $25,000. 

Provided $10,000 to the Salvation Army's program that provides 150 hot meals to the most vulnerable around HRM every Wednesday.  

Provided $3500 to purchase 280 $25 grocery gift cards the society's Emergency Grocery Support for Marginalized Women's Program. 

Provided $7500 to the mission's Food Shelter and Housing Support Program for people experiencing homelessness, hunger and crisis in North End Halifax and surrounding communities. 

Provided $10,000 to the foundation's Emergency Single Family Assistance Program that provides timely financial support to families in crisis facing extreme poverty.  

Provided $5000 for the organization's Cultural Community Food Market Program to support low-income single mothers in Uniacke Square by providing fresh produce and nutritious meals. 

Provided $2500 for the organization's Youth Activity Program to ease access to sport and activities for the most vulnerable children in our community.
